Introduction Qcric is a cricket coaching programme aimed at developing cricket and general ball skills in children between 3 and 6 years of age. Qcric is presented as a constructive, well-balanced sports programme developed by sport professionals who love sports, for children who are passionate about playing sports.
>Qcric helps children understand why they are doing an activity, supporting them to strive for personal satisfaction rather than perfecting techniques at too young an age. Qcric has recently been endorsed by the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) as a valuable cricket coaching programme for 3- to 6-year-olds, and accepted by all the directors of various cricket federations in South Africa. Qcric is growing rapidly as a preferred sports programme at preschool level, with a growth rate of more than 100% a year.
Q Cric Objectives
Preschool children between the ages of 3 and 6 receive
fun-filled, adventurous cricket and ball skills coaching from
qualified, experienced sports professionals.
A superhero character, FlyQman, interacts with the children as
part of making the coaching process fun throughout.
Parents are continuously encouraged to be involved in their
children's cricket programme.
Children are referred to a Qcric Academy of Excellence in their
area when they finish preschool to facilitate continued cricket
coaching at primary school level.
How to Enroll ?
Visit www.flyQsports.com and download an application form by
selecting "Cricket coaching application form", or complete
the attached form and hand it in at your child's preschool.
Fees range between R75,00 and R95,00 a month, depending on which
programme is offered in your area. Discount will be given for
quarterly payments.
Qcric is a fun-filled, UCB-endorsed cricket, adventure cricket
and ball coaching programme, using FlyQman to carry out cricket
learning activities for 3- to 6-year-olds.
Qcric teaches modern techniques of cricket aspects such as
catching, running, stretching, accuracy, confidence, agility,
hitting the ball, speed, problem-solving, group behaviour and many
more.
Qcric groups are limited to 8 children per 30-minute coaching
session.

Management Team
Qcric is part of Pro Quest Sports, which was established in
2005.
The Chief Executive Officer, Riaan Labuschagne, has more than
ten years' experience in the sports industry. He is a qualified
professional cricket coach (level 2) and lectures fourth-year Sports
Management students at the Tshwane University of Technology. Riaan
has completed a National Diploma in Sport Administration and
Marketing, a B Tech degree in Sports Management (cum laude), and a
Master of Business Administration degree (MBA).
Head of coaching, Gerhard Aspeling, is a level 1 coach. He
coached at the Sinoville Cricket Academy for three years. Gerhard
has completed a three-year National Diploma in Sports Management at
the Tshwane University of Technology.

Qcric links parents with the next level of cricket coaching when
children leave preschool.Qcric Academies of Excellence will soon be
established at primary schools to ensure continuity and
uninterrupted coaching by reputable coaches.
Detailed quarterly report cards, indicating each child's
performance against set targets, allow coaches and parents to track
progress.
Coaches interact with parents at parent meetings.
Q Cric and Emotional Intelligence The following emotional intelligence framework will be used by coaches when interacting with children:
Self Awareness : Children are encouraged to be aware of
their own capabilities, in order to gain self-confidence.
Self Control : Children and coaches are encouraged to
let emotions facilitate actions rather than interfere with
activities.
Motivation: Coaches motivate children to have dreams and
goals.
Empathy: Coaches are taught to put themselves in the
child's shoes, and to pick up on non-verbal indicators.
Social Skills : Children learn to deal with emotions in
relationships and to read social situations.
